Samantha has a passion for helping small businesses make informed financial decisions by providing enhanced financial information to management. With 12 years of experience in both public and private companies, Samantha has been able to bring public company financial discipline to small private companies, while keeping in mind the resource constraints that are present in most small businesses.
Samantha began her career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen in Cape Town, South Africa, and then in Philadelphia, PA. She then worked for CIGNA Corporation where she assisted in the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley and was a Controller in the group insurance division. Since moving to San Diego, Samantha has worked for a private equity firm and a hedge fund, both at the CFO level. She has considerable experience with alternative
investment firms, start-ups and wind-downs. Her experience at small firms has provided a deep understanding of the challenges facing small businesses and the need for timely and accurate financial information.
Samantha completed her education at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, earning a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Accounting and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting. She is an active CPA, licensed in California and Pennsylvania.
